The Stoops Center for Communities, Families, and Children was established in 2017 through the generous support of the Stoops Family Foundation Inc. to create and maintain valuable knowledge that informs effective policies, services, and practical research promoting the well-being of communities, families, and children in Florida, the United States, and worldwide.

The Stoops Center for Communities, Families, and Children proudly congratulates Dr. Tai Cole, Associate Director of the Stoops Center, on successfully defending her dissertation, Caregiver and Educator Perspectives of Kindergarten Readiness, on June 2, 2026.
Dr. Cole earned her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction: Special Education from Florida State University’s Anne Spencer Daves College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences. Her dissertation committee included Dr. Lindsay Dennis, Chair; Dr. Michelle Therrien; Dr. Veronica Fleury; Dr. Erin Bush; and Dr. Addie McConomy.
